Cayde sighs. His eyes slide off of Saint to somewhere over his shoulder.

"Got a call to help out a friend. Jailbreak at the Prison of Elders needed put down. Thought I had it. To make a long story short, I didn't."

There's a pause as Cayde gets a grip on the edge of the bandaid.

"It was a trap. I put away a lot of Fallen barons, and they remembered that real good. Set up a sniper and got Sundance."

He shrugs, the eye contact returning.

"Now I'm here."

Saint-14 is here. The tower has Saint-14 back. That had to happen after the Prison of Elders, Cayde can put two and two together.

Cayde knows in his gut that he was looking his last death in the eyes, but Saint-14 knows for fact.
