Saturday gives her a small, kind smile, just an upturn of the corners of her mouth and a brightness in her eyes.

"I ain't trying to do anything. Like I said, I can see the scars on you from here; I got a few of my own, an' I know what makes 'em. Anyone can. It's a vulnerability, and you gotta address it sooner or later." No one had ever gotten through to Saturday by telling her to love herself, and she doubts Catra will be any different. "People made you carry their shit, and now you think being bent double is how you're supposed to stand. Drop the shit they put on you, and stand tall on your own two feet."

She puts down her coffee. "And I know it's easy to say, hard to do. But it can be done, if you remember that somethin' being your responsibility ain't the same as it being your fault."
